British Sign Language Level 2

Course Objectives

  • Give and receive in depth descriptive and directional language
  • Discover further topics such as Non Manual Feature gestures and Multi Channel signs and much more!
  • Learn regional variations of BSL
  • Progress in fluency and confidence when using BSL
  • Develop your vocabulary within BSL
  • Students will need to do more self-directed learning through Student Space - receptive clips, basic linguistics etc

  • Who have achieved BSL level 1
  • Seeking to learn BSL to an intermediate level
  • Who work/volunteer (or seeking to) within the Deaf community
  • Who wish to integrate BSL within their everyday/job life
  • Have a family member, colleague or friend who is Deaf or hard of hearing
  • Who learn well with visual teaching methods

  • Further your skills in BSL with Teach Me Sign
  • Split into 4 manageable units: 2A1, 2A2, 2A3 and 2A4
  • Continued support throughout your course in and out the classroom

  • Entry requirements: British Sign Language Level 1 or equivalent

Included Topics

  • iBSL2A1: Receptive Skills - You will develop your understanding of sign language
  • iBSL2A3: You will develop your signing skills and give a presentation on a work-related or social/community activity of your choice
  • iBSL2A3: You will develop your conversational skills in BSL when in a 1:1 situation
  • iBSL2A4: You will develop your conversational skills when in a group situation
